True delight:

Recently I’ve revamped my blog & I’ve tried to find a verse to include on the sidebar. One of my favourites came to mind & I ended up using it:

Delight yourself in the Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

I was a little hesitant however, because I have heard this verse misinterpreted. I have heard people say that if you delight yourself in the Lord – you will get the things you want – a big house, car etc. The more you do for God, the more He will give or do for you. It makes me so sad that someone would truly think that the only desire of their heart is something material.

I believe this verse actually means that as you delight yourself in the Lord, your heart will desire the correct things – closeness with the Lord, depth in your relationship with God – & this is guaranteed if you delight yourself in the Lord. It’s an upward spiral – the more you delight in the Lord, the closer you are to Him, the more you desire what He desires, the more you will get the closeness & wonderful relationship you will ultimately desire. I know that the more time I spend with the Lord – through bible studies, prayer & committing each element of my day to Him, the more I want that depth of relationship.

Let me challenge you to spend some time delighting in the Lord this weekend.

I so agree with you. My greatest desire is to be close to The Father. I ask Him daily to guide me to be a blessing.

I bought an app on "iPhone A" for 3 dollars. On "iPhone B", I want the same app, using the same iTunes account. Is that app for iPhone B free?
